When to call the midwife — fast reference
Call right now if any of these happen:
- Heavy vaginal bleeding (more than spotting)
- Severe headache that doesn't go after rest + water
- Sudden swelling of face, hands or feet
- Stomach pain that doesn't ease
- Blurred vision or seeing spots
- She can't feel the baby move (after week 24)
- Fluid leaking from her vagina
- Fever over 38°C (100.4°F)
- A fall that hit her belly
You are not over-reacting. Midwives would rather see you for nothing than miss something. Make the call.
